Six sites of the First Stage of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Tournament concluded Friday. Here’s a capsule look at who advanced to Second Stage and maintained their hopes of 2023 Korn Ferry Tour membership.

Note: First Stage of Q-School will conclude next week with sites in Chardon, Ohio; Gunter, Texas; and Lincoln, Nebraska. After the conclusion of First Stage, the Second Stage will begin October 11.

All players who advance from Second Stage to Final Stage will earn 2023 Korn Ferry Tour membership; they’ll compete for position on the Eligibility Ranking across four rounds at Final Stage, to be contested November 4-7 at The Landings Club in Savannah, Georgia.

FORT MYERS, FLORIDA (CROWN COLONY)

Jorge Garcia advanced victorious over the 74-man field in Fort Myers, Florida. The Venezuelan finished 23-under across four rounds with a final-round 62 consisting of seven birdies and an eagle. The Barry University alum, 26, has made 19 career starts on PGA TOUR Canada, highlighted by a T6 at the 2019 1932byBateman Open. He has also made six career starts on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica, highlighted by a T21 at the 2015 Dominican Republic Open.

Notables to advance: Runner-up Sunny Kim finished solo second at 18 under. Kim has won 85 times on the Minor League Golf Tour. He made his PGA TOUR debut at the John Deere Classic in 2010 ... Tom Lovelady finished T4 to advance. The Alabama alum is a former TOUR pro and former roommate of Justin Thomas. Lovelady finished T2 at the 2018 Barbasol Championship ... Tyler Strafaci finished T6 at 14 under. Strafaci was the 2020 U.S. Amateur Champion and played on PGA TOUR Canada in 2022. Strafaci finished No. 49 on the 2020 PGA TOUR Canada Order of Merit, including four top-20 finishes ... Sean Jacklin, son of two-time major winner Tony Jacklin, finished T6 as well. Jacklin has three top-10 finishes on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica.

Notables to miss: Former Korn Ferry Tour and PGA TOUR Canada winner Chase Wright finished one shot shy of advancing. Wright earned his first PGA TOUR card via the 2018 Korn Ferry Tour. His best finish on TOUR came at The RSM Classic in 2018 where he finished T7 ... Evan Davis finished T35 and failed to advance despite closing rounds of 66 and 69. Davis is a 2022 Belmont graduate with three amateur wins and fourteen top-10 finishes.
