Sophie Ellis-Bextor live-streams a dazzling disco from her living room as she keeps her fans and five sons entertained during COVID-19 lockdown

She's joined the nation in self-isolating amid the coronavirus lockdown.

And Sophie Ellis-Bextor provided some light entertainment as she live-streamed a dazzling disco from inside her living room on Instagram on Friday night.

The singer, 40, left her five sons and her fans thrilled as she performed a medley of disco classics and her own hits while parading around her home.

And Sophie pulled out all the stops for the occasion, donning a glittering gold sequinned jumpsuit for her performance.

Her children got in on the act too, with Sonny, 15, Kit, 11, Ray, seven, Jesse, four, and Mickey, 14 months seen dancing (or crawling) around in glittering ensembles.

Sophie and the kids were also joined by her husband, The Feeling bassist Richard Jones, 40, who she married in 2005.

The fun video started off with a close-up of the family's shiny glitter-ball, before the camera panned back and showed a smiling Sophie and Richard.

Then with microphone in hand, Sophie launched in to her concert, belting out her hits including Take Me Home, Groovejet and Get Over You.

With Richard as the camera man, Sophie sang and danced her heart out, while her boys adopted the roles of backing dancers.

In her caption, she thanked fans for tuning in, uploading the full disco on her grid.

And it was clear her followers were appreciative as the stream was flooded with several complimentary comments.

It comes after Sophie opened up to Red magazine in October about feeling 'mum guilt' and maintaining her career while raising her children.

When asked the secret to marriage, Sophie said: 'When I got married, my mum [ex Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis] said, ''Be selfish about your marriage and if you have a choice about what to be doing with your time, pick doing something with Richard".

'When you're a mum, you feel guilty about everything. If we're going to have a night out, it alleviates that feeling because sometimes you do need to go out and spend time with each other.'

The Murder On The Dancefloor hitmaker shared her secret to juggling her busy music career with raising her young sons, admitting working makes her feel 'purposeful'.

She explained: 'A lot of working mums end up trying to be all things to all people.

'In our house, if I say I'm working, at least two of the kids get really cross with me, like, "Why don't you tell them you can't sing"' I say, "You have to stop punishing me for what I do. I love what I do".

'I don't want to make it about money. I say it's good for feeling purposeful, for giving me something I love to do. Working definitely makes me a better mum.'
