Trisha Yearwood took the stage at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for a very special tribute, and she looked incredible for the star-studded event. ACM Honors is held after the ACM Award Show (which took place back in May) and celebrates special award winners and recipients of awards that were given off-camera.
Trisha performed in honor of ACM Poet's Award recipient Mary Chapin Carpenter with a rendition of her song, "This Shirt." According to American Songwriter, Trisha said, "Tonight we’re honoring Chapin with the Poet’s Award so this was important to me to sing a song that I think embodies that spirit perfectly. It’s a song that is one of my favorites of hers and I just want to send it out to Chapin."
For the event, Trisha wore black leather pants, a sparkly black top with oversize gold buttons, embellished black boots, and layers of gold necklaces. She kept her blonde hair in loose waves and wore smoky eye makeup, pale pink lipstick, and summery pink nail polish.
Backstage she posed with Clint Black (another recipient of the Poet's Award) and Hillary Scott of Lady A.
Other performers at the event included Carly Pearce, BRELAND, Lady A, Keith Urban, and The War and Treaty. Fans will have to wait to see the full ACM Honors ceremony: It airs on Monday, September 18 at 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. CST on Fox.
Katie Bowlby is Digital Director at Country Living, where she covers gift guides, product reviews, crafts, and TV shows like Yellowstone. She’s currently stitching up a cross-stitch pattern for the magazine’s next issue
