After a year, La Porte Little Theatre Club is elated to reopen with “Disney’s High School Musical.” Performances will rock the theater house July 23-25 and July 30-Aug. 1.
“High School Musical on Stage!” Is based on the 2006 Disney Channel original movie about two star-crossed lovers: Gabriella Montez, played by La Porte High School’s Norah Gartland, and Troy Bolton, played by recent New Prairie High School graduate Wrigley Hemphill, as they navigate their newfound love for the stage and sticking to the status quo of their high school cliques. This is Wrigley and Norah’s 6th show together at Little Theatre. Enjoy the adventure as Montez and Bolton find their true selves and inspire their classmates to be who they truly are.
Fans will no doubt sing along with musical numbers “Start of Something New,” “Status Quo,” “Getcha Head in the Game,” “We’re all in this together” and more! Although High School Musical hit the scene in 2006, HSM devotees have enjoyed 3 movies and a new popular Netflix series spinoff.
With a cast of 30, so many new faces are gracing the Little Theatre stage this summer. Actors came from far and wide to audition and the cast is something you certainly don’t want to miss. Leading the Wildcats on stage alongside Wrigley and Norah are: Keegan Darr, Jordan Dashiell, Luke Housman, Addysen Morros, Samantha Morris, Isaac King, Alexus Passmore, Breanna Wilson, Andrea Bertsche, and Rick Henderson. Rounding out the cast with supporting roles are: Cole Antrim, Reagan Buchanan, Emmy Dashiell, Natalie Gartland, Alexis Gresham, Madison Gresham, Emily Hunt, Kairah Ohime, Marie Parrette, Parker Peterson, Grace Rinkel, Gavin Rivera, Rachel Small, Raegan Smedley, Ella Taylor, Gabby Tompkins, and Elizabeth Wadle. All join to perform upbeat songs and energetic choreography.
Joining the theater yet again are costume experts Monique Fredline and Sharon Kienitz, vocal rock star Erin Imer and sensational stage manager Samantha Bean.
