He was just crowned a winner of Baauer‘s bop battle stream by Mr. Carmack, and now he’s proving he deserves that title of champion with hot new track “Imagine”.
This is a glitchy bop with a masterfully textured beat courtesy of Matalo’s piping hot production touch. He actually made this futuristic slapper out of a sample park provided by an artist named Imaginate, and the song he forms out of the sounds is a seriously hard-hitter. The intro is unbelievably vibey, with ominous and mysterious notes that build up in anticipatory bliss. It’s got shimmering synth work and a second drop that packs so much punch, you can almost feel the lasers.
