INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Governor Eric Holcomb announced Wednesday afternoon that he is extending the state’s face covering mandate and continuing stage 4.5 of Indiana’s “Back On Track” plan until at least September 25.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported 971 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Since early March, the state has confirmed 89,359 cases of coronavirus. An additional 18 virus-related deaths were also certified, and now 3,041 Hoosiers have died from the disease.
Bartholomew County confirms 1,025 cases of the virus, Jackson County reports 675, Jennings County verifies 261, and Johnson County has had 1,964 cases of COVID-19.
After reporting a new daily high of 22 hospitalizations on Monday, Bartholomew County officials said on Wednesday that there are currently 12 positive coronavirus inpatients.
