Meet Max, Dazzle and and Alberta, this week’s San Gabriel Valley pets of the week:
Max is a joy to be around
Just look at that smile. Four-year-old Max absolutely loves being around people. He has lots of exuberant puppy energy and loves walks, and he’s super smart and picks up on commands really quickly. With his happy smile and constantly wagging tail, Max is a joy to be around. Max would do best as your only pet, but he truly loves people and will give so much love to his forever family.
You can spend some time with Max before you adopt, as he’s eligible for a 30-day trial, all supplies provided. Take him home for a month and get to know and love him. At the end of 30 days, you can make your adoption official. Email foster@pasadenahumane.org to get your trial adoption started.
The adoption fee for dogs is $140. All dog adoptions include spay or neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines.
New adopters will receive a complimentary health-and-wellness exam from VCA Animal Hospitals, as well as a goody bag with information about how to care for your pet.
Pets may not be available for adoption and cannot be held for potential adopters by phone calls or email.
Motherly Alberta is a sweetheart
Three-year-old Alberta came to us as a young mama kitty with her seven kittens.
All her kittens got adopted, but Alberta still had that mothering instinct, so she’s now in our communal cat room helping shy kittens learn how to cat. She’s currently a surrogate mother to kittens Lentil and Pinto, and does such a great job giving them mother cat guidance. Sometimes our animal care staff will get all three of them to participate in a play session together, and it’s such an adorable sight. Alberta has come a long way since we first met her, and she now approaches for pets and head bumps for treats – what a sweetie!
If you want to spend more time with Alberta before you adopt, she’s eligible for a 30-day adoption trial. Take her home for a month, get to know and love her, and all supplies are provided. Bring some Dazzle to your home
Be dazzled by Dazzle, who hasn’t let many challenges faze her. Still a young cat at 3, Dazzle has survived two foster homes, and one adoption which turned into abandonment.
For years, Dazzle lived by a freeway, but was fed daily by a kind woman. She finally went to a foster home where an adopter was then found. However, after just a few days, the adopter abandoned her at the vet’s office because Dazzle was ill. She is now at another foster home while she is recovering from a digestive sensitivity. We would love to find an adopter for her.
Dazzle is understandably shy and will take some time to trust. However, she is easily held and plays with toys. She is gentle and makes you just want to take her in your arms and love and comfort her. She is a beauty. Can you see her adding love to your home?
