The Bulldogs were special guests of Dwayne Sims as they helped him celebrate Andrew "Rube" Foster's 142nd birthday, along with William "Doug" Foster, Jr., the great nephew of the "Father of Black Baseball" and his wife, the first woman to play professional baseball "Toni Stone".
"I am so proud to support BSU women's' sports program - the women's softball team and in the past the women's bowling program, "added Sims. "My message is for those who can be supported, take the time out and make a difference in someone else's lives besides our own."
Toni Stone was the first woman to play big-league professional baseball. She succeeded Hank Aaron playing second base for the otherwise all-male Indianapolis Clowns of the Negro American League in 1953.
