I’m looking to York for our first dark horse of the day, a William Haggas-trained runner in the 1.55pm contest on the Knavesmire.
Further south, there are two horses running at Newbury who are likely to represent a bit of value.

Punters are understandably enamoured with unbeaten horses, particularly with those trained and owned by the big boys.
The Godolphin-owned Boccacio may well be a star waiting to happen and could win this easily. However, forecast prices are suggesting he will be around 11-8, which is short enough based on what he has achieved.
The William Haggas-trained SURF DANCER finished a little weakly over a mile at Newmarket last time out. He was bumped at the start, raced keenly and failed to get home. It wasn’t a poor run, though, and this immediate drop back to seven furlongs rates as a positive move.
He might just be a shade below this level and, if so, he will dip into handicap races shortly. However, his speed figures suggest he is still going in the correct direction and it would not surprise me to see the horse put up a much better effort.
Ten head to post for this six-furlong handicap and Pam Sly’s DAZZLING DAN can stage a return to form on his third outing of the season. A mark of 99 is stiff enough on the face of things, but his rating has slid down from 104 and on the best of his form from around last season, he’d have a great chance.
Let’s not forget, Dazzling Dan beat Oxted at Newmarket back in August, when giving that now Group One-winning sprinter weight in the handicap. Shane Kelly takes over for the first time and perhaps a change of rider can prove fruitful.
Admittedly, there are quite a few strong contenders for the Weatherbys Super Sprint and as such, you couldn’t be confident in taking on the top of the market. I always look out for Hannon-trained juveniles in this race regardless of price and KOOL MOE DEE might run well for the yard at a huge price.
A steadily progressive Mehmas filly, Kool Moe Dee caught the eye at Windsor last time when finishing third to a nice horse in Deliver The Dream. She was not given a hard time when her chance had gone. She posted a nice speed in defeat to boot, has a nice low weight here and, all told, I wouldn’t bat an eyelid if she ran a cracker under Rossa Ryan.
