1. One-Man Reading of ‘A Christmas Carol’

Stage Door Unlocked Productions • 7:30pm • Nov. 27 • The Grand Theatre, Eau Claire 

Nate Plummer performs the role of Charles Dickens and all of his beloved characters, much like Dickens himself performed on an American reading tour in the late 1800s. Learn more here.


2. Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus

Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild • 7:30pm on Dec. 2-4, 9-11 • 1:30pm on Dec. 5 & 12 • The Grand Theatre, Eau Claire 

Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus, an editor’s response to doubts of Santa’s existence, will be performed as a 1940s radio broadcast with an ensemble of actors playing all characters. Learn more here.


 

3. A Christmas Carol Radio Play

Menomonie Theater Guild and Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts • 7:30pm, Dec. 10-11 • Mabel Tainter, Menomonie

Menomonie Theater Guild and the Mabel Tainter present a joint production, A Christmas Carol Radio Play. The MTG and Mabel teams have been hard at work creating a safe yet festive event for the holiday season. This will be a staged reading of A Christmas Carol done in the old-fashioned radio style, complete with Foley sound effects. Find details here.


4. A Christmas Carol

Heyde Center for the Arts • 7:30pm Dec. 10-11 • 2pm Dec. 12 • Heyde Center, Chippewa Falls

In this adaptation of the novella, A Christmas Carol, by English writer Charles Dickens published in 1843, playwright and director Sue Decker along with a local cast and crew will take you on the classic story of a mean-spirited and selfish old man called Ebenezer Scrooge who hates Christmas. 5. Scrooge: The Musical

Eau Claire Children’s Theatre • 7:30pm, 1:30pm on Saturday and Sunday • Dec. 16-19 • The Oxford, Eau Claire 

Persnickety character Ebenezer Scrooge of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol comes to life on stage at Scrooge the Musical, which hits The Oxford stage this December. Learn more here.
