Get ready for a Dazzling Night of Stars Friday evening as the Sealy Chamber of Commerce holds its annual banquet.
Scheduled for a 6 p.m. start, the banquet will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1310 Highway 90. The glamorous event will tempt taste buds and tickle funny bones with entertainment by a comedian and a catered dinner by Ben’s Chuckwagon. Once again, guests can bid on their favorite dessert in the dessert auction.
The 360-plus guests will get a laugh out of the entertainer. Comedian Todd Justice will supply the guffaws with his brand of “clean” Texas humor.

The banquet will have attire ranging from business casual/church clothes to cocktail dress. There will also be many favorites returning to the banquet.
“Again this year we have Jeff Virnau as the Master of Ceremonies, with Don Alphin playing light music in the background during our social hour,” said Tammy Hall, the chamber’s executive assistant. “We will be honoring a few members with awards and welcoming our new board members while saying goodbye to our board members who have termed-out.”
The silent auction is loaded with amazing donated items and gift baskets. Among the items are the popular Texaco model trucks from Colorado County Oil, Igloo coolers by Igloo Products Corp., an outdoor deep fryer by KO Electric, a Game Guard soft cooler bag loaded with goodies by Prasek’s Smokehouse, a two-night stay at a cabin at Lake Somerville by Peggy and Fox Jurek, Stihl chainsaws and Kubota toy sets by Virnau Sealy Tractor, and much more.
“Our committee has worked so hard on this,” Hall said. “They want to make sure the members really enjoy it. I think it’s going to be an extremely fun event this year.”
