Lundi Gras is coming to a close but the party is still going strong in New Orleans.
On Monday, the super krewes of Proteus and Orpheus dazzled thousands of revelers along the streets of Uptown New Orleans.
The two big parades of the night, getting an early start to beat the rain. The threat though not stopping the party.
"It's wonderful! I've never been to something like this in my life. It's great!" Cassandra Green who traveled from Florida said.
Green drove 700 miles to be in New Orleans for the party. This is the first time she's ever experienced Mardi Gras.
"I'm so excited! All the music, all the bands and all the beads! I can't wait until tomorrow!" Green said.
New Orleans natives are loving it as well.
"We love New Orleans. We love the parades and we love the people," Eileen Martinez said.
Martinez, a New Orleans native, says though the mayor banned tandem floats, the parade is one she wouldn't miss.
"Of course we'd love to see them all together. If it's to maintain safety, we'll take it too," she said.
