MADISON, Wis.— A Madison woman using her vocal talents to belt it out on this season of NBC’s "The Voice." Raine Stern, who is 22-years-old, was chosen out of thousands of entries to compete amongst the best in the country.
"I think the really fun thing for me, going into this is like... I never really pegged myself for somebody that would would go on a show like 'The Voice.'"
The singer/songwriter and guitarist embeds her strong environmental and human rights views into many of her deeply personal songs that she arranges as a true one-woman band.
"If it weren't for COVID-19, which is a funny thing to say but true, I likely would not have ever done it ['The Voice']," Stern said of the "serendipitous" experience.
Stern says besides being able to grow her vocal skills on national television, she will make history, by becoming the first competitor to also compose music for her fellow contestants.
"I think everyone should know about this. I'm already working on three or four tracks for some of the other contestants," she said after returning home from filming.
