Jordan Poole had Dub Nation talking about his high-flying dunk on Thursday in the G League bubble, including Golden State teammates like Steph Curry.

Midway through the first quarter of the Santa Cruz Warriors’ 116-111 victory over the Memphis Hustle, Poole took flight for a slam and just seemed to keep on rising. The 6-foot-4 Poole eventually threw down a monstrous dunk on 6-foot-9 Freddie Gillespie.

If you were surprised by Poole’s hops, you probably had the same reaction as Curry.

After winning back-to-back road games against Eastern Conference foes, Warriors had the day off and others chimed in on Poole’s flush, including Juan Toscano-Anderson and Eric Paschall.

The Sea Dubs bench clearly loved it, with a couple of them doing the universal sign for, “Ohhhh, he just dunked it on your headtop.” No offense to them, but Poole would clearly rather have Curry, Toscano-Anderson and Paschall and cheering for him in person than tweeting.

But Poole is playing like a man among boys at times in the G League after averaging 9.6 minutes in 15 games with Golden State to begin the year.

He also got loose on a fast break and hammered home a nice one-handed slam.

Before Poole’s G League assignment, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said the second-year guard needed to be more aggressive. Looks like Poole is up to the challenge.

Poole finished with 26 points, seven rebounds and two assists while lining up as a shooting guard. Nico Mannion handled the point and dished out 12 assists without turning the ball over.

Poole ranks second in the G League in scoring (23.4 points per game) but still needs to cut down on the turnovers (4.8 per game). General manager Bob Myers and CEO Joe Lacob were scheduled to be in attendance on Thursday, so Poole and Mannion did well to make their case for a promotion back to Golden State. Poole has a guaranteed contract while Mannion is a two-way player.
