Mentor Junior Quarterback Jacob Snow had a great start to the season with Cardinals’ 49-7 Canton McKinley throttle.

Snow completed 12 out of 15 passes with 181 yards and 4 touchdowns. In addition, he ran three times at 53 yards. Snow also skipped Matt Gray’s mind several times in the third quarter.

With the mentor firmly in front, Snow made the keeper a distant bystander. Instead of ducking out of bounds, he stuttered the safety device, cut in and earned more than 10 yards before being buried in a group of out of bounds defenders.

Gray said he rarely chatted with Snow about the importance of living to see another play, and after taking a step beyond the limits.

“I was out for the Hall of Fame symbol. I wasn’t a happy camper at all,” Gray said with a laugh. “He needs to know when to push the limits. This year he’ll have him touch down in a hurry, but he has to save himself.”
